About ConFoot CFU 20

What is ConFoot CFU 20?

ConFoot CFU 20 is a professional container lifting device designed to provide a safe and efficient solution for lifting standard ISO containers ranging from 10 to 45 feet. This innovative system allows you to lift containers weighing up to 20 tons without the need for cranes, forklifts, or other heavy machinery. The CFU 20 model represents a significant advancement in container handling technology, offering a practical and cost-effective solution for various industries.

How It Works

The ConFoot CFU 20 operates through a sophisticated yet user-friendly mechanism. Each unit attaches directly to the container’s corner castings using a specially designed climber unit that locks securely into place. The hydraulic bottle jack provides the lifting power, allowing smooth and controlled elevation of the container.

The system’s modular design is a key feature - while the total assembled weight is 46 kg, individual components weigh less than 25 kg, making them manageable for operators to handle without additional equipment. The lifting process involves positioning four CFU 20 units at each corner of the container, ensuring even weight distribution and stable lifting.

Technical Excellence

The CFU 20 has been designed according to the requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and following international standards including:

  • SFS-EN ISO 12100 (Machine safety)
  • SFS-EN 1494 (Mobile jacks and associated lifting equipment)
  • CF EN 283 (Proof stress)
  • SFS-EN ISO 9001 (Quality system certification)

Each unit features high-grade steel construction with precision-engineered components including magnets for positioning assistance, multiple locking pins for security, and a modified Bahco BH4B8 bottle jack for reliable lifting power.

Applications of ConFoot CFU 20

Transport and Logistics

Transport companies benefit from the CFU 20’s ability to position containers precisely without waiting for heavy machinery. This flexibility reduces operational delays and equipment rental costs while improving workflow efficiency.

Defense and Military Operations

For defense forces, the CFU 20 provides a portable and rapidly deployable solution for establishing container-based facilities in various terrains. The system’s ability to operate in temperatures from -20°C to +40°C makes it suitable for diverse operational environments.

Manufacturing and Production

Production facilities use CFU 20 units to create flexible layouts with containers serving as modular workspace or storage units. The ability to position containers at optimal heights improves material handling and workflow integration.

Port Operations

In port environments, the CFU 20 provides auxiliary lifting capability for container positioning and temporary storage, reducing dependency on primary lifting equipment during peak operations.

Humanitarian Aid

For humanitarian missions, the CFU 20 offers a practical solution for rapidly deploying container-based facilities in challenging environments where heavy machinery may not be available or practical.

Safety Features

The CFU 20 incorporates multiple safety features:

  • Main locking pins with secure locking mechanisms
  • Support leg assemblies for stability at elevated heights
  • Clear visual indicators for proper positioning
  • Comprehensive operational guidelines and safety instructions
  • CE marking and compliance with European safety standards
